Position Summary:

The GEAR UP Site Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting school-day and after-school enrichment programs for both students and parents, extending learning opportunities beyond the traditional classroom setting. The position also involves designing and implementing targeted professional development programs for educators within partner school districts. The primary focus of this role is to enhance instructional practices and promote the academic success of GEAR UP students by supporting educators, students, and families with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed for long-term success. This is a nine-month, full-time provisional position, funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide consistent, day-to-day coordination and implementation of GEAR UP services within assigned school sites, ensuring alignment with program goals, student needs, and campus priorities.

Collaborate with school administrators and teachers to assess professional development needs and tailor support accordingly.

Develop, coordinate, and facilitate professional learning opportunities for teachers and staff focused on innovative teaching strategies, inquiry-based learning, and critical thinking.

Assist in the development and refinement of curriculum materials and instructional practices that promote a college-going culture, academic excellence, and college and career readiness (CCR).

Facilitate engaging school-day and after-school enrichment opportunities aligned to the goals of the grant.

Deliver hands-on support to students, families, and staff through tutoring coordination, college and career readiness (CCR) activities, academic interventions, family engagement initiatives, and ongoing progress monitoring.

Develop and deliver workshops that equip families with strategies to support learning at home, monitor academic progress, and navigate school systems and graduation requirements.

Provide training and resources to students and families on financial aid processes, including FAFSA completion, scholarship opportunities, and college affordability planning.

Manage school-based data collection processes, including gathering, verifying, and maintaining accurate records to support program accountability and reporting requirements.

Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, collect feedback, and prepare reports, including contributions to the Annual Performance Report (APR), to support continuous improvement.

Serve as a liaison between Arkansas Tech University and partner schools, while engaging community partners and educational organizations to strengthen collaboration, communication, and resource development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders required.

Expertise in instructional leadership and curriculum design.

Ability to facilitate engaging and effective training sessions.

Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in education, curriculum development, or a related field.

Minimum of five years of K-12 teaching experience with a background in curriculum design required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate preferred.

Experience in designing and delivering professional development programs for educators.

Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:

The Site Coordinator for GEAR UP will be housed on the Clarksville School District Campus and will work with the director, GEAR UP staff, and multiple other stakeholders engaged in the grant-funded GEAR UP program to meet the goals of the program.

Some local travel may be required.
